THANK YOUs

Dear Houston A&M Mothers' Club,

Thank you so much for the scholarship you provided me. It is relieving to my parents and me knowing we have some help.

The start of my Sophomore year will be filled with  the first classes of petroleum engineering. I'm ready to bite into the meat of my education!

Thanks for everything.

Sincerely,
Stephen Janacek

Dear Scholarship Committee of the Houston A&M University Mothers' Club,

Thank you so much for selecting me to receive a scholarship for the upcoming school year! The money will help greatly in covering my school costs for my last semester at A&M.

Thank you once again for your support in helping me reach my educational goals.

Thanks and Gig'em!

Sincerely,
Rebecca Sappenfield

Dear Mrs. Marintsch,

I am writing in appreciation of your generous contribution to the President's Endowed Scholarship Awards for Texas A&M University. I have received the Houston A&M University Mothers' Club President's Endowed Scholarship, which will help me to continue my studies at Texas A&M.

I am currently a sophomore at Texas A&M and am working towards a major in civil engineering and a minor in Spanish language. I am involved in several organizations on campus, including the Ment Points Chair for my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, a member of the committee for The Big Event, and a Bible study leader through Campus Crusade for Christ. As of right now, my goal after graduating from A&M is to go to graduate school to work towards a Masters Degree in Structural Engineering and your financial support is helping me work toward that goal.

Thank you again for your contribution to the President's Endowed Scholarship Fund. I hope I get the chance to see you at the PES Donor/Student reception and thank you in person for your donation.

Sincerely,
Emily Cain

Dear Mrs. Marintsch,

I am honored to be a recipient of the Houston A&M Mothers Club Scholarship. Thank you so much for this generous award and helping me to come closer to my educational goals.

I am entering my Junior year as a student at Texas A&M University, where I am currently pursuing a career in civil engineering. I always knew civil engineering would be the right major for me, but now my passion for it has grown even deeper. My Freshman and Sophomore years have been both challenging and exciting, but I made it through successfully. I plan on graduating in May of 2012 and then continuing on to graduate school to focus specifically on structural engineering. After my years of schooling, I hope to work on bridge structures.

Once again I want to thank you for making this scholarship possible for me. Your generosity has greatly impacted my future as I strive to become a civil engineer. Thank you so much for your kindness. It is nice to know that there are people back in Houston thinking of us at A&M.

Sincerely,
Katlyn McCoy

Dear Mrs. Fran Marintsch,

I am honored to be a recipient of the Houston A&M University Mothers' Club Endowed Opportunity Award Scholarship. It is thanks to your generosity that some of the enormous financial burden of attending a first-rate university is lifted off of mine and my family's shoulders.

I grew up in a small town called Staples, Texas about thirty miles south of San Marcos. After my parents divorced while I was in seventh grade, I moved to Houston. It was quite a shock for me, having come from a town of 350 people and moving into a city with a population of 5.7 million. I had a few struggles, of course, but I attribute my strive for success to these obstacles.

Both of my parents, and one of my grandparents, attended Texas A&M, but none of them graduated from here. I hope to be the first person in my family to do that, and form a family tradition of my own. I am pursuing a degree in biomedical sciences. I am not entirely sure of what I want to do with my career, but I am considering medical research or pharmaceutical school. I am currently a member of the Biomedical Science Association, the Undergraduate Science Research Club, and I hope to become a member of a Freshman Leadership Organization. I interview for three FLO's tomorrow, actually. I am also a Terry Foundation Scholar, so we participate in community service and have monthly meetings as well.

I have gotten off to a good start, both academically and organizationally, at Texas A&M. I have met so many wonderful people here, and everyone has been extremely courteous to me. I am enjoying it immensely. Thank you again for your generous support, and I am looking forward to the scholarship luncheon in April!

Sincerely,
Allison Dietert

WOW!

Fran, you and the club did a marvelous job of honoring the Rabbits!  We really weren’t expecting such “royal treatment”! The mums were such a cute idea and yes, I shall wear mine as I watch the game and cheer for our team.

The white roses were also a nice touch for the former presidents. Mine is now in a bud vase in my kitchen window.

Thank you again for making this such a special luncheon and event for our Rabbits!

Blessings,

Jean
